In 2015, HFHLC implemented an elementary reading program called Habitat Readers. That year, we had storytellers in two (2) elementary schools and covered topics such as dirty water, natural disasters and sub-standard housing.
Since inception, we have grown at a staggering pace, adding new volunteers and schools. We have been blessed to have students from our North Lincoln High School Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter and Lincoln Charter School (Lincolnton location) join us as storytellers this year. We love, love, love our young adults!
To date, we have read and done activities with over 2,300 students and each student can tell you what we believe - Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County believes that every one deserves to have a safe place to call home. We continue to increase our impact!
