Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County, NC (HFHLC) is a leader in developing decent and affordable housing for low to moderate income families in Lincoln County. The faces of “low-to-moderate income families” are hardworking folks we encounter daily. People who serve us coffee at our favorite restaurant, first responders who mitigate our emergencies, and those who teach and care for our children and grandchildren.

Youth Engagement Is Alive and Well with HFHLC!

During the 2017-2018 school year, we were beyond busy…we were in 9 elementary schools throughout the County reading to 1st and 2nd graders, we formed a Youth Engagement Committee, added community volunteers as official storytellers and held end-of-year celebrations at all of our schools.

Olivia’s Story

While growing up in a small and rural community, Olivia’s way of life was loving but different than most of her classmates. Olivia had a hardworking mother who was doing the best she could to give Olivia and her brother “Little Bo” the necessities (food, water and shelter) they needed. As a single mom of two, she often struggled with paying rent, utilities, food and other essentials.

Seeking Affordable/Donated Land in Denver and Iron Station Communities

Our affiliate is currently looking for buildable lots in Denver, Iron Station, and Pumpkin Center. Our affiliate is growing and have several local families in our program. This is great for our capacity and our community for providing affordable housing in Lincoln County. Unfortunately we have had limited success in finding buildable land in the Eastern section of the county which includes Denver, Iron Station, and Pumpkin Center. We are searching for individual lots where we are able to build immediately.
