Youth Engagement Is Alive and Well with HFHLC!
During the 2017-2018 school year, we were beyond busy…we were in 9 elementary schools throughout the County reading to 1st and 2nd graders, we formed a Youth Engagement Committee, added community volunteers as official storytellers and held end-of-year celebrations at all of our schools.
Whew…from inception to date, we have read and done activities with 2,054 students – we continue to increase our impact!
And, our impact didn’t stop at the elementary level, we added two (2) more high school campus chapters and currently have a total of three (3) active schools – ELHS, NLHS and WLHS.
Habitat Campus Chapters are responsible for advancing Advocacy, Fundraising and Building initiatives. They also participated in a Leadership Event, volunteered with Habitat Readers and NLHS organized and held the 1st Community Build in Denver for a deserving family!
